How Much Does it Cost to Hire a Process Server in Oregon?
Typically, a process service company will charge anywhere from $75 to $150 for serving a Summons and Complain, Subpoena, Protective Order or other legal document. The cost will depend on how quickly you need someone served and where that individual can be found (e.g., are they located in a rural area? or in Downtown Portland?). The most important consideration in choosing a process server is not cost, however. You’ll also want to think about these other items.
I Think a Process Server is Trying to Find Me. What Should I Do?
If a process server is looking for you, it’s for one of two reasons: either someone is suing you (e.g., divorce, small claims, civil litigation, etc.) OR someone needs you to testify for their case (e.g. a subpoena is in your future). Your best option is to accept the service sooner rather than later. There are many great reasons that you don’t want to avoid a process server.
